Is there a way to turn all updates off? Its horrible logging in and find its auto updated stuff and things break and uuuugg. its one thing to update the linux system but its a pain in the arse when CPW updates at least let it be a manual choice.

Hi,

You can disable cronjobs. But I do not think if it a good idea. Updates have bug and security fixes. ;)
You can ask me to solve any problem with your server for some money in pm  ;)

Igor : Its not a good idea on a workstation but on a server, its NEVER a good idea to have automatic updates.  Keeping an uptime high is much easier when a sysadmin knows when and what is updated.
