Title: Migration from Plesk Obsidian
Post by: alfonso on September 03, 2021, 08:42:59 AM
Hello,
I read all the old topic about migrating from Plesk, but I haven't found any detailed explanation abut how to do it.
I ask if anybody had already done it, to please provide some instructions.
This year Plesk has increased the price for Plesk and I think many people like me is looking for a free solution.
Thank you in advance.

There is no plesk migration tool that CWP supports. Only CWP and CPANEL migration tools are available.

Thank you for your reply.
In your opinion what is the best way to do the migration?

Could it be:
- backup of http and db
- uninstal plesk
- install CWP
- upload http and db

Thank you

Hi, i would do it the following way:

- backup your databases and your html folder.
- create an account
- point your domain to your IP if not already done
- import databases
- double check the database logins, maybe you need to change logins in your sites config
- create ssl certs
- If you plan using CWP internal DNS management check if something is missing and add the records

if you are using your hoster for DNS Zone Management skip the last point.

now check if your site is up

this should be all to get your site up and running on cwp :)
