Title: creating new users - creates 2 index files in public_html
Post by: BaDTaG on May 09, 2022, 07:35:29 AM
Hi when ever i create a new user in cwp it creates 2 index files in public_html
index.html witch is normal and index.html.backup witch looks like malware or something.

as you can see the file looks suspicious and i can not figure out where it comes from.
i created multible test users  and domains but i am at a blank.

any one have any idea on how to fix this or whet the index.html.backup file is ?

Hello

1. Check the apache error log
2. Activate the secure Kernel option (IMPORTANT)
3. Apply all the security scanning tools you have from the admin panel.

This might help you solve the problem

So CWP support was awsome.
they identified where the file was coming from.

the file was found in
Code: [Select]
/usr/local/cwpsrv/htdocs/resources/admin/tpl/new_account_tpl/once removed all is back to normal.

i ran all securety tools and nothing came up.
i changed root pwd just to be safe

thanks for your help

love
