Hi,
Ive installed CWP< all seems fine except whenI try to look at cwp addons, then the following error occurs. ( I have name servers set to the free dns name servers.
Is it just a case of waiting to see if name servers propagate fully?

can you add the output of the following comand
cat /etc/resolv.conf
-
Hi,
output below
[root@Damos ~]# cat /etc/resolv.conf
nameserver 127.0.0.1
nameserver 62.210.16.6
-
replace it with
nameserver 8.8.8.8
nameserver 8.8.4.4
-
even though Im using the freedns names?
tia
-
hI , added 8.8.8.8 & 4.4.4.4 same issue
-
have you tried to make a test like
ping google from the shell ?
-
Hi,
I left it for a day & it works now... Now have different issue... If I install mod_security, apache stops working.
-
you will need to check apache error logs.
/usr/local/apache/logs/error_log
-
I got same proble few times about cat /etc/resolv.conf.
Usually the fastest test is to try ping as admin suggest you.
The file cat /etc/resolv.conf is overwritted by networking service in some cases. (This is the why it has back to normal working without intervention)
If you have local IP on resolvconf and doesn't work, maybe you have named service down, or you don't have setup it. You are not oblied to use your own dns, cuz your dns server has only your dns records. To reach full internet you must setup a public dns, like google's 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
I hard-fix that by removing write permission on file /etc/resolv.conf using command chmod -w /etc/resolv.conf
and setting file like admin suggest:
nameserver 8.8.8.8
nameserver 8.8.4.4
Regards.
