CentOS Configuration / Multiple user accounts for same domain?
« on: September 21, 2019, 09:01:39 PM »
This seems like a real basic thing. It must be possible, but I can't figure it out.

I am the only user account "scott" on my domain example.com for my email that works fine at scott@example.com

Now I want my boss to have an account so he can get mail at charles@example.com

But when I create his account, I get:

Error
Domain already exists

Anybody know what I have to do to have multiple accounts for email at the same domain name?

Thanks!

CSF Firewall / Re: Question about blocks and block emails..

Uh.. yeah. I have kind of ignored that because when I click into it, I can't figure out how to change it or what to change it to.

Any guidance on that would be very appreciated.

Also, any idea how to stop the emails for every block?

CSF Firewall / Question about blocks and block emails..
« on: March 04, 2019, 05:48:00 AM »
Hi,
I seem to get thousands of emails like this informing me that some hacker has been blocked:

Time:     Sun Mar  3 21:19:28 2019 -0800
IP:       43.243.128.213 (CN/China/-)
Failures: 5 (sshd)
Interval: 3600 seconds
Blocked:  Permanent Block [LF_SSHD]

Log entries:

Mar  3 21:02:48 domain sshd[24568]: Invalid user builder from 43.243.128.213 port 49424
Mar  3 21:02:50 domain sshd[24568]: Failed password for invalid user builder from 43.243.128.213 port 49424 ssh2
Mar  3 21:13:23 domain sshd[24665]: Invalid user test from 43.243.128.213 port 42337
Mar  3 21:13:24 domain sshd[24665]: Failed password for invalid user test from 43.243.128.213 port 42337 ssh2
Mar  3 21:19:24 domain sshd[24764]: Invalid user zu from 43.243.128.213 port 53695

So these are my questions:

1. how do all these hackers find my system and how can I stop their attempts to access it?

2. If I can't stop them, it's nice that they are being blocked. But I really don't need an email for every single attempt. How can I stop the emails notifying me of every block?

Thanks!

Ok, even though you don't like it, can auto ssl be put on the mail server?

Is this not possible with the free Let's Encrypt one available through the Web Panel?

SSL / SSL for the mail server?
« on: February 03, 2019, 10:31:12 PM »
Hi,

Setting the SSL for the main domain was surprisingly fast and easy.

How can it be applied to the mail server?

My host in postfix is:

Current Settings in Postfix:
mydomain = example.com
myhostname = mail.example.com

Anyone know how to add the SSL to mail.example.com so that mail clients can connect securely?

Thanks!

E-Mail / Re: Can't get mail - NOQUEUE: reject: and Relay access denied

Oh man, that totally worked!!

I've been at this a couple weeks. Somehow setting that to local during set up didn't seem to make sense.

Thanks!!!  Thanks!!!

E-Mail / Can't get mail - NOQUEUE: reject: and Relay access denied
« on: January 27, 2019, 09:52:58 PM »
I have really looked everywhere for the answer to this. It seems to have happened a lot. But I have tried all the fixes I have found, rebuild, fix host names, edit recipient and authentication rules, etc. etc.

I can send mail through my server, but I can't get mail:

Jan 27 09:02:16 whiterocktool postfix/smtpd[29705]: connect from resqmta-po-03v.sys.comcast.net[96.114.154.162]
Jan 27 09:02:17 whiterocktool postfix/smtpd[29705]: Anonymous TLS connection established from resqmta-po-03v.sys.comcast.net[96.114.154.162]: TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)
Jan 27 09:02:17 whiterocktool postfix/smtpd[29705]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from resqmta-po-03v.sys.comcast.net[96.114.154.162]: 454 4.7.1 <name@whiterocktool.com>: Relay access denied; from=<email1@comcast.net> to=<name@whiterocktool.com> proto=ESMTP helo=<resqmta-po-03v.sys.comcast.net>

I just can't get it to work. Does anybody have any new or better fixes for this.

Do I need to wipe my server and install from scratch?

Thanks!

CentOS-WebPanel GUI / Question about Root and User accounts
« on: January 09, 2019, 07:35:12 PM »
Hi,
I have been an admin for several years on win and mac, but am very new to Linux.

I just want a better environment to run and self host my sites and email.

My first question is: Is CWP actually meant for what I want? In looking up how to do things, I seem to get the idea that this is meant to be a front end for if I want to sell hosting and manage customers. Can someone set me straight on this?

Anyway, my main question: Since setting up the system as Root, I didn't see the need to set up any other users. But I found in order to set up a domain, I had to set up another user besides Root. Why does a domain have to be tied to a user?

The problem I had was that when setting up, I made HostName and ServerName mydomain.com, then when I tried to actually add the domain and was taken to the user set up, it would not accept the domain and gave an error.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks very much!
Scott
