Postfix / Getting error VXNlcm5hbWU6
« on: February 21, 2018, 08:53:43 PM »
I'm getting an error that I presume is from postfix. The error is Error: authentication failed: VXNlcm5hbWU6
This error is generated from my website that is trying to send emails to members at registration. My website uses php mail. Would that be the reason and is there a way to edit postfix to allow my website to send mail.

CentOS 7 Problems / Re: Error 404
« on: December 04, 2017, 08:47:24 PM »
Hi 24x7servermanagement
Thanks for your reply. I did try and copy the apache error log but it had grown to over 30mb and I simply couldn't copy it or upload it here.
I believe I've worked out what had happened.
Although I had uploaded a populated database and the backup files, nothing showed up other than a 404 page error. The very next day I checked and found a fresh install of Wordpress showing the "Hello World" page and the administration page was asking for user name and passwords to be set up.
Alarm bells ringing I hunted the server logs and found 94.102.52.14 had accessed the server and was trying to alter XML.
I've since hardened the server and deleted the troubled account, changed login details and re-uploaded the site.
It now works fine and the logs are telling me that the above ip address is now seeing page 403.

So thanks for the quick reply.
Regards,

Steff

CentOS 7 Problems / Error 404
« on: December 03, 2017, 05:50:54 PM »
Right here we go!
CWP was running on fire! I canít state how stable and fast things were. Then I brought a UPS and plugged it in. That took out my raid, main drive and two backup drives, and as an extra kick in the teeth, I had the external drive plugged in to usb and it had that too.
Left with nothing much as backups, Iíve been scrounging around for the past five days rebuilding from clouds and other devices. Anyway Iíve done itÖ well almost.
One account has a problem and Iím wondering if the problem is more CWP pro.
I created the account. Then installed the database (mysql without errors). I then restored the public_html directory to the correct home directory for the account. After that I chowned permissions and tried the account and got an error 404.
I checked htaccess and that seemed fine. Looked in the sql database and the table shows that it is calling the correct url and I decided to browse the contents of public_html for that account whilst in file explorer and can see that file permissions are all set correctly.
All the other accounts have reinstalled fineÖ oh and I rebuild php and Apache v host but nothing has changed, I still get error 404 on this account.
Any ideas please?

Information / Re: Custom Nameservers Not Working

Is dns allowed through the firewall? Worth checking also that any router has port forwarding set up for dns as well.

Information / A simple thank you!
« on: November 23, 2017, 07:38:57 PM »

I just wanted to thank the team behind Centos Web Panel (CWP).
Due to need I was driven down the self-host direction and everyone told me donít bother as it is difficult and risky.
Having tried all the web panels (free and paid for) I have to say that CWP is the most comfortable of them all. In fact, it is the nearest web panel to Cpanel in my opinion. Iíve even managed to fix issues that my host company couldnít resolve.
CWP is stable and polished giving the end user confidence to invest time and energy building a future with the knowledge that CWP is backed up with good support and a solid knowledge base.
So, thank you all so much and I wish you all the best.

E-Mail / spam sent through user account
« on: November 21, 2017, 11:57:32 PM »
I have a user that has a couple of email accounts for a domain I host. The domain is nothing more than a htaccess redirect to another domain, so there's no database or files in the public_html (apart from htaccess).
Now this user is reporting spam (about 100 daily) and just recently noticed a spam email sent in his domain email address as if he had sent it.
the user is running anti virus and I'm running Spamassasin, clamav, AMaViS and SpamHause.
Could this be a server infection or a missconfiguation that allows email to be sent with the users account details?

CentOS 7 Problems / Re: internal server error and 503 permissions
« on: November 13, 2017, 07:29:36 PM »
Thank you so much studio4host.
I found an entry in the php.ini of one of the websites i was hosting and removed the entry. Not only did it stop the log file filling up it also fixed the internal server error.

CentOS 7 Problems / internal server error and 503 permissions
« on: November 08, 2017, 02:06:22 PM »
Hi guys.
Iím having a problem with permissions and I think it may be due to the php version Iíve installed on the server.
Emails give an error forbidden 503 and so do the websites and also if I try and view websites through account and ip address I get an internal server error 500.
Just before these errors occurred the server was working fine and then httpd service failed. As I was unable to restart the service I used yum to reinstall and start the service. I then took the opportunity to upgrade the server php version from 5.3 to 7.0 and it seems that that has caused the problems I have now.
In a bid to sort that problem out I reverted back to php version 5.3 by rebuilding the selector and then restarting the httpd service. The problem continued.
Looking in Apache2 error log I see the following:
Code: [Select]
[Wed Nov 08 14:04:41.081278 2017] [:error] [pid 27686:tid 140447787747072] [client 46.229.168.66:11298] Failed loading /usr/local/php56/lib/php/extensions/ZendOptimizer.so:  /usr/local/php56/lib/php/extensions/ZendOptimizer.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory300mb of log saying the same two errors.
So I rebuilt php 5.3 from selector and included ioncube and zen in the build. I then ran the following command
Code: [Select]
sh /scripts/update_ioncuberestarted httpd services and the problem is still there.
Any ideas please.

Backup / Backup to local NAS
« on: October 15, 2017, 05:15:39 PM »
Hi guys I can't seem to see how to achieve the following and wondered if anyone could help me with this please.
I have Centos 7 and running CWP version: 0.9.8.359. There is only the one server hosting about 10 VPS clients.
On my local network I have the Centos server behind a NAT router that also hosts a NAS.
I've setup daily and weekly backups in CWP but would like the weekly backups to be backed up to the local NAS.
I'm trying to achieve that I have a backup copy in the local backup directory (CWP backups) and also at least a weekly backup on the NAS.
Any help would be fantastic.

E-Mail / Can send but not receieve
« on: October 08, 2017, 05:37:56 PM »
Guys Iíve been trying to resolve this for about 5 weeks now, Iíve trolled every postfix and dns forum available and although Iím seeing the exact same issues, Iím unable to resolve my problem. Without a doubt this is to do with my lack of understanding of DNS and Postfix.
Anyway, the issue is that Iím unable to receive emails from outside the domain. I can send and the emails are received within seconds. If the emails are returned they donít get sent to my inbox. If I send an email from an external domain they donít end up in my inbox. If I send an email to myself (internally) it turns up in my inbox.
Iíve spoken to my ISP and they say that port 25 is open and they donít restrict anything.
I have access to alter the PTR records at the ISP but Iím not sure what to put there. Iíve put
82-69-15-167.server1.recom.co.uk.
Thatís the real external IP of the server that is also the ISP IP address. That is also the host name of the server and real domain name.
I was initially running the DNS on the server but decided to use the Free DNS manager and here is the set up.
Code: [Select]
DNS Zone Test
zone recom.co.uk/IN: loaded serial 2017100704
OK

Domain nameservers are set to:
ns1.centos-webpanel.com
ns2.centos-webpanel.com

You need to set your domain nameservers to:
ns1.centos-webpanel.com
ns2.centos-webpanel.com
ns3.centos-webpanel.com
ns4.centos-webpanel.com
ns5.centos-webpanel.com

*if you want that your dns records works!

Zone:
recom.co.uk
Serial:2017100704
Refresh: 28800
Retry:7200
Expire:1209600
TTL:86400
NS1: ns1.centos-webpanel.com
NS2: ns2.centos-webpanel.com

Host Type Destination

@ A 82.69.15.167

@ MX 10 mail.recom.co.uk

ftp A 82.69.15.167

mail A 82.69.15.167

server1.recom.co.uk A 82.69.15.167

www CNAME @
I have only set up one zone, so what you see is the entire DNS.
As I mentioned earlier the domains and IPs are the genuine thing. Iíve published these in the hope of guidance as Iím aware that my lack of knowledge combined with using example.com would further inflame my problem.
Iím hoping that someone will be kind enough to guide me through this problem and I will be able to one day help the community in return.
