The new module for SSL via Letīs Encrypt actually works just fine, except for the 'custom install - also for server hostname) install.

Using all other options in the module works like a dream, but there is no option on how to get the server hostname, eg. srv1.dmoain.ldt to work as smoothly as the other options in the module...?

Checking around the web, it shows that most people with this problem, canīt find the correct path to put into the box and donīt know if they have to set 2031 in the port setting and actually how to get the Custom Install to setup and replace the CWP generated and self signed SSL cert...

I havenīt found anybody who made this work just by filling out the boxes in the 'custom install' option in the module, but have found an ocean of more or less strange options on how to circumvent the present setup to make it work...

Maybe it would be a good idea to make a step-by-step information for all to follow to avoid many asking the same question here and many other places...?

Postfix / RBL not added to postfix main.cf
« on: April 10, 2016, 09:41:52 AM »
Hi, in the CWP I have enabled the Spamhaus antispam option. I did however receive a considerable amount of spam and therefore checked the main.cf and I see that spamhaus is not added to the reject line for some reason...?
I know how to add it, but I wonder why it isneīt added when it clearly states in the CWP dashboard that Spamhaus is installed....?

Perhaps it is clearing even before going to postfix as it is integrated with the csf firewall? I do however not see it in eg. the deny IPīs in csf....

Checking mail log also shows no rejections at all by spamhaus....

Anybody know if this is a bug or...?

Ok - I tried to experiment with setting up spamhaus check by directly inserting it into main cf and immediately I saw that spamhaus now is filtering - this clearly shows that the CWP plugin/option does NOT work as supposed - if it worked it would not be possible to have the direct edit giving spamhaus results in the maillog as it would already have been filtered by the cwp install and/or the cwp install would show reesults in the maillog...

This indicates clearly that there is a bug in the antispam feature in cwp, whether it is only my installation or a general bug I have no idea, I can only document that in my installation it does not work at all...

For others with the same problem I would suggest editing main.cf directly or do it via installing an interface like webmin to edit it there ( a little easier for non-nerds or non-specialists)  8)

Hello.

I'm afraid it can be configured manually only, at the time.

New Modules / Re: Migrate CWP->CWP
« on: March 03, 2016, 09:48:28 AM »
Thanks for the information - it will surely be useful to many users.

But as the other post on this topic shows a dedicated module is being worked on right now and probably will be implemented within shorter time... - thanks pedro..

And a module performing the task was actually what I asked for - not just for me, but for many other users, to make operation and migration of CWP more smoothly and problemless - as seen in cpanel, it can be done just fine and the migration from cpanel to cwp also works just fine - the only thing missing is the module taking care of migration CWP-CWP.

Iīm happy that Pedro is working on it and look forward to this improvement to CWP.

This could be easily done with a couple of steps. Sadly I don't have the "know how" to put it in PHP form and make it execute the shell commands.

*Before rsync-ing ANYTHING, do it with "rsync --dry-run" so it only tests it, and not actually perform the rsync. Best to do this over and over until there isn't a single error.

1) Rsync everything from old server to new server (With the exceptions of "etc/fstab" "etc/network*" "backup*" "proc*" "tmp*" "sys*" "dev*" "mnt*" "boot*" "root*") with the options of -auHxvz and --numeric-ds
2) Need to mysqldump everything to an "all_databases.sql" (Otherwise CWP won't work since the core is in a database) and import it on the new server. Also make note of your old "Phpmyadmin" password, because that will remain the same. You will need that to import the "all_databases.sql" on the new server.
3) Need to copy the users, and groups from the old server to the new server (etc/passwd and etc/group files)
4) Login to new server with your NEW Root password. Remember that it's not the same as the old server.
5) Edit apache v-hosts, apache config, apache SSL vhosts, shared IP address at the bottom of homepage, with the new IP address. Also set your hostname to what your old server use to be. It's best this way. For example if your old server was s1.domain.com and your new server is currently set to s2.domain.com; after reaching this step update your DNS record for s1 to be the new server's IP and wait for it to go through.

I actually just did this myself, so that's how I know it works. I did notice FTP server number doesn't show up on the homepage now. So that may have fallen off. Not sure, I could ask igor to look at it and see what didn't migrate over and note it here for research purposes.

If you notice something wrong with my information, please do correct me. :) I want to be resourceful for future readers.

E-Mail / How to config spamassassin on cwp
« on: February 09, 2016, 07:43:53 AM »
I have searched high and low to find a FAQ answering how to config Spamassassin on CWP...?

Itīs fine that Spamassassin is installed via Postfix manager together with Clamav etc. but Spamassassin is not worth much if it canīt be configured on user level and in CWP it is not possible to configure it neither on server level nor on userlevel...

So - simple quetion:

How to config spamassassin on cwp on serverlevel and userlevel....

New Modules / Migrate CWP->CWP
« on: December 12, 2015, 03:08:51 PM »
I often need to migrate clients from one server or vps to a new and with cpanel that is done on a matter of minutes using their migration module.

CWP unfortunately doesnīt have such a module and I havenīt found any signs that anybody is working on such a module, I have however found many others that also requests such a module.....

Could that please be listed as an urgent request for a new module in CWP?

It would realy improve the usability of the panel....

CentOS-WebPanel GUI / DNS editor creates continous error
« on: August 08, 2015, 06:16:10 AM »
When using the SPF editor or adding records below the 'add' line ind DNS editor, it keeps creating errors like:

Notice: Undefined offset: 4 in /usr/local/cwpsrv/htdocs/resources/admin/modules/zone_editor.php(1) : eval()'d code(1) : eval()'d code on line 83

causing httpd to stop and staying stopped - if the broken record is removed via the dns editor, it plumps an IN record causing the problem to remain...

Any suggestions?

UPDATED

It seems that the editor creates this problem itself.

When updating a record, it breaks the special line inserted in the tables:

"; Add additional settings below this line"

and leaves out part of the line and therefore breaks the record with the abomentioned error.

Resolution is to go to /var/named/xxxdomain_in_question.db and reinsert the correct line, then restart the bind service via cwp, problem fixed

Today I installed the panel and uploaded a cpmove file to /home. Then I used the cpanel migration tool and after unpacking it, it showed some fields to add a user account, then filled out the fields with the same info as the cpmove filename and expected all content of the cpmove file to be unpacked to /home/USERaccount - I also marked the optionsfields to restore email accounts and mysql accounts, then hit the button 'restore'

Only thing that happened was that the /home/USER account was created, nothing was restored, no email was restored, no mysql was restored...

A new folder called backup-xxx-xxx-xxx-tar.gz was created and in here all data was unpacked, but everything was just unpacked and not restored in domains, dns, mysql, email etc. although selected upon start of restoring... >:(

Either the cpmove restore doesnīt work or I might have done something wrong - any suggestions is welcome.

UPDATED:

After having spent a lot of time testing different options, I found that the advise to rename the backup file to 'cpmove-' is NOT correct.

If the backup is called eg. backup-2015-08-15-18-02-01.username.tar.gz then LEAVE the name as is and start restoring with THAT name - this way it seems to be almost a correct restore that is the endresult...

Administrator writes under Known issues:

"Unpacked folder name must be cpmove-USERNAME"

I am not quite sure what you mean here? Do you want the cpmove placed in a folder called 'cpmove-username' and THEN restored?

Please advice.
