Softaculous / Re: Cannot install scripts, maybe write permissions?
« on: November 16, 2017, 08:47:50 AM »

This happens from time to time and can be frustrating. If you are using the Softaculous installer you should see an option to "overwrite" existing files. Try to install with that overwrite option checked and let me know if the problem persists. However, make sure you are installing WordPress in the intended domain or directory so you do not overwrite files you need.

Thank you for reply!

I did choose the option to overwrite and got the error again. Came back few minutes later, tried again and it worked. Seems like CWP and Softaculous are like my old tube radio, got to bang on it a little to make it work:)

Never had that happen using ole cPanel so the error threw me into a loop.

Thank again.

Softaculous / Cannot install scripts, maybe write permissions?
« on: November 15, 2017, 11:03:38 PM »
Installed Softaculous using CWP (pro version) and all seemed to work fine. Updated Softaculous license to paid and still fine and no errors.

Now I am trying to install WordPress onto a domain and this is error thrown:

Code: [Select]
The following errors were found :

Could not write the Configuration File _htaccess

How can this be fixed, anyone with idea or tips appreciated.

CentOS 7 Problems / Re: YUM Manager No Longer Working
« on: October 31, 2017, 02:31:39 PM »
It was a CSF issue. Swear I have changed nothing, yum updates have worked without issues in past.

Disabling CSF and yum updates work.

Thanks for the tips nevertheless, they were appreciated.

if you still have no access to it then you should check why and do you have access to others

ok. but why would three different cwpPro installs on three different VPS providers in 3 different locations all of a sudden start having yum issues?

i have changed nothing. only thing I have done is use the cwp built-in yum update. then, next time i try to update all of the installs have exact same issue?

will try your methods.

CentOS 7 Problems / Re: YUM Manager No Longer Working

Thank you for tips @studio4host.

Did the yum clean all and then yum makecache fast, which resulted in:

Code: [Select]
Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://vzdownload.swsoft.com/download/mirrors/centos-7 error was
12: Timeout on http://vzdownload.swsoft.com/download/mirrors/centos-7: (28, 'Connection timed out after 30001 millis
econds')

One of the configured repositories failed (Unknown),
and yum doesn't have enough cached data to continue. At this point the only
safe thing yum can do is fail. There are a few ways to work "fix" this:

     1. Contact the upstream for the repository and get them to fix the problem.

     2. Reconfigure the baseurl/etc. for the repository, to point to a working
upstream. This is most often useful if you are using a newer
distribution release than is supported by the repository (and the
packages for the previous distribution release still work).

     3. Run the command with the repository temporarily disabled
            yum --disablerepo=<repoid> ...

     4. Disable the repository permanently, so yum won't use it by default. Yum
will then just ignore the repository until you permanently enable it
again or use --enablerepo for temporary usage:

            yum-config-manager --disable <repoid>
        or
            subscription-manager repos --disable=<repoid>

     5. Configure the failing repository to be skipped, if it is unavailable.
Note that yum will try to contact the repo. when it runs most commands,
so will have to try and fail each time (and thus. yum will be be much
slower). If it is a very temporary problem though, this is often a nice
        compromise:

            yum-config-manager --save --setopt=<repoid>.skip_if_unavailable=true

Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: vz-base

I have not changed anything, or moved hosts and only thing changed was last yum update via CWP gui. Since then nothing has worked related to yum. Have three (3) cwpPro installs on three(3) different VPS providers (all different physical locations is US) and all of them have the same exact issue.

Apparently CWP yum update is now broken.

Code: [Select]

I love the hell out of CWP and always upgrade to pro version BUT very discouraging when dev's will not take time to help with issues.

Guess that is the way it goes...

CentOS 7 Problems / YUM Manager No Longer Working
« on: October 26, 2017, 04:40:35 PM »
Seems after the last update I got for my two installs of cwp7pro, Yum Manager no longer works. Nothing else changed since has update except the update itself.

Two different VPS boxes on two different providers. This is what happens when trying to use:

Video: https://www.useloom.com/share/ee5c3edf483d4ca394d6720d63aeffee

The spinner continues to spin and never shows the available updates (which I have 23).

Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

FYI check your disks in your VPS. Seems like disk write latency. Happened before.

Thanks again for tips. Since all of the VPS were on same server, seemed they should all perform the same. Only different was OS6 and OS7.

CWP has some issues because NOTHING is configured for optimisation. But you can start googling. If you configure it properly, works better than cPanel

Thanks for tip @botonakis

Was attempting to get CWP into schools since won grant to study best control panel but, lack of support prevented me from recommending CWP. If one pays for Pro, it should already be optimized:)

hmmm...sounds strange can can you contact us here so we can check this server
http://centos-webpanel.com/contact

about email notifications you can disable them or whitelist process in the csf configuration file
/etc/csf/csf.pignore

Thanks. I did contact you and was told something wrong with VPS without even taking a look at issue:) Was just told "Let us know if you've any query regarding cwp pro."...

Ticket #176538

I do not want to disable messages about excessive usage. Cannot understand why anyone would just ignore them.

Anyway, after the school IT department supervisor became tried of trying to get working she is looking at other CP's to review.

CentOS 7 Problems / Resource usage issues
« on: March 27, 2017, 11:20:58 AM »
Starting to give up... Migrated from cPanel and still on same VPS, same settings, same OS template. Never had single issue for over a year on cPanel but now with CWP have high spikes in resource usage with many messages like below.

I have read many posts here on the forum and you point to VPS setup. For instance:

http://forum.centos-webpanel.com/centos-6-problems/centos-6-6-0-9-8-2/msg2199/#msg2199

If issue is with VPS provider/setup, why did everything work without any flaws using cPanel and CSF? If I am missing modules all of a sudden, why is this happening with CWP and not cPanel?

One VPS does not even have active sites but get emails over and over like:

- lfd on node2: Excessive resource usage: postfix (721 (Parent PID:721))
- lfd on node2: Suspicious process running under user postfix
- lfd on node3: Excessive resource usage: postfix (730 (Parent PID:730))
- lfd on node3: Suspicious process running under user postfix

I have CentOS 7 and 6 using CWPpro. They replaced cPanel in tests to see if schools can use CWP and so far cannot recommend. With all the budget cuts we were provided with government grant to study feasibility of using CWP and others (to replace 100's of cPanel VPS license) and at this point will not be able to recommend CWP.

Support tickets have been no help at all. Telling me VPS setup has issues when everything worked flawless on cPanel/CSF, is turning us toward another panel.

Do not mine paying for something what works and I will sound like broken record: why everything works on cPanel but not CWP?

How to / Use compress in advanced file manager
« on: March 22, 2017, 09:39:46 PM »
Been trying to use the compress feature in advance file manger (OS6).

No matter what format (zip, tar, etc) the compressed file ends up corrupted? Payload or missing headers mostly.

How the heck do you use it?

Hi, that is not a CWP issue. That is your VPS issue since thousands VPS's and server's have CWP and do not have the issue.

Sorry, thought I had made that perfectly clear:

"As I suspected it is hosting provider and nothing to do with CWP. At first they were pointing fingers but have now admitted they have issues.

So, nothing to do with CWP or CentOS7"
