Migrate account from cPanel server

Hello,

I have a problem when restore an account. After process finish I get a blank page (no errors on browser console).

File, database and email are restored but I don't get summary for operation. Furthermore permissions on public_html are incorrect and I need to set they manually.

Someone can help me to debug this?

can an admin update these instructions? On step 3, there is no field to enter user account, only "Account Import" "Associate package" and "Password Account". I've tried to use the correct .tar.gz file, the default package, and used the password for the user, the password for the root, the account name, all unsuccessfully. I keep getting the same error:



Seems like these instructions are for older version of CentOS Web Panel, circa 2014-2015.

If you need to migrate account from the cpanel server, you can do that very fast from the control panel.

Steeps
1. Upload cpmove/backup file in the /home folder
2. Goto Left Menu --> User Accounts --> cPanel Migration
3. enter username of the account which you want to restore (cpmove-USERNAME.tar.gz file must be in the /home folder)
4. select cpmove-USERNAME.tar.gz file to restore
5. enter domain, contact email and start restoring account
6. restore should be now done, if not successful the check bellow for the error solutions.

Known issues
1. cPanel backup file name must be named cpmove-USERNAME.tar.gz
2. Unpacked folder name must be cpmove-USERNAME

cPanel Migration Wizard restores the following
- All Files from public_html folder
- All MySQL databases
- All Users for the MySQL databases

That's what I've got from migration_cpanel.log. I'm always getting the same error as on the screenshot above on a clean new CWP installation without any users.

Additionally - email Passwords are not transferred correctly. Ive created ticket: 267408

Tried this 2 times.

Both times, database was restored, domain names were restored (but directory setting is not correct) and files were NOT restored!!

1. I can manually unpack files and restore them BUT

2. how do I change the domain settings?

e.g. all domains are pointed to

home/username/public_html

whereas some should be to home/username/public_html/domain.name  OR home/username/domain.name

Also, why aren't files getting restored automatically?


P.S IF i manually unpack the files, I still need to change settings cause if I go to domain, ALL domains are set to home/username/public_html/  ( i have 10 domains).

domain 1 -> home/username/public_html/
domain 2 -> home/username/public_html/

etc

need to change to home/username/public_html/domain1.com
etc

how? (apart from deleting each and then readding)

that works fine but if you use zlib in cpanel you can read it in CWP you have to activate zlib for dovecot

at this time the cPanel Server Migration does not work I am waiting for an Update. while these I am doing the migration with my own scripts for bulk migrations.

@Fretelweb - could You share Your way of migrating account from cpanel to CWP?
It would be of great importance not only for me but to the others struggling with this minefield, ekhm, I mean issue.
For now I start first step from completely WHM server migration which gives me correct email account password hashes ready to be pasted to mysql database (table postfix/mail) but this is a "little" problematic.

Ive also encouner one issue which isnt covered anywhere and I had to deeply analyze it by myself.
Email account on cpanel Have to be in "maildir" format UNCOMPRESSED. This is the only way it will be readable by CWP. You can use cpanel email conversion tool to prepare correct format (also need to turn off compression in mail server settings).
Anyway @Fretelweb, can You help by sharing Your way, or maybe You can even share Your scripts for that?
