CentOS Configuration / IPv6 support
« on: February 12, 2020, 02:57:55 AM »
Are there any plans to support strictly IPv6 or IPv4 & IPv6?
I tried to install CWP on a IPv6 only box, and it didn't do anything.

LiteSpeed / OpenLiteSpeed
« on: February 12, 2020, 02:56:30 AM »
I see more and more hosts offering OpenLiteSpeed.
Since LiteSpeed in a paid option in CWP, would it be difficult to add support for OpenLiteSpeed?

Information / Re: Plans to support CentOS 8?
« on: November 14, 2019, 09:26:13 AM »Why do we need centos 8 immediately? I'd rather wait 6 months for all of the centos 8 bugs to be fixed.
I'll give you an example.
I recently upgraded my (bare metal) server, but unfortunately CentOS 7 uses a really old Linux kernel, so my 16-core CPU stays throttled because it thinks that each core is 50 degrees hotter than it actually is!
I looked into it, and the only solution is to upgrade to a newer Linux kernel above ______ (I forgot the version offhand) but as long as I'm stuck on CentOS 7, my CPU is going to run slow because the system thinks it's overheating. 2200 MHz per core instead of the usual max 3800 MHz per core!
So yes, we need CentOS 8.
Have you tried to upgrade to the latest Kernel?
As of this message it is at 5.3.11, which I am currently running on CentOS 7.7.1908 without problems and CWP.
That might resolve your problem with the CPUs.
Mine are running at 3792 MHz.
---
As of 14NOV19:
CPU Details: 1 Core (3792 MHz)
Distro Name: CentOS Linux release 7.7.1908 (Core)
Kernel Version: 5.3.11-1.el7.elrepo.x86_64
CWPpro version: 0.9.8.918

I can build it / Create add-on script for getmail and CWP?
« on: September 17, 2019, 08:00:08 PM »
Not sure if this is the right area, but was wondering if anyone could design a script to add-on Getmail into CWP?
Seems like it would be simple, since ISPConfig offers it.
getmail is available in the repository, and is compatible with postfix and dovecot.
If this is a project you would be interested in quoting to do, please contact me.
Thanks,
David

DKIM / 2048-bit DKIM
« on: September 05, 2019, 05:09:00 PM »
I generated a 2048-bit key entered it into the 3rd party DNS (Vultr), and used a DKIM validater, and it said was all OK.
I am using an offsite DNS, not CWP to handle DNS.
But am getting an error when the message is received on the other end of it not being valid.
Can CWP only support 1024-bit?
I don't see any option in CWP to create a 2048-bit key.
Note: I am using the same 3rd party DNS with iRedMail and 2048-bit DKIM is working OK.

E-Mail / Re: Mail server and staff
« on: September 05, 2019, 05:05:17 PM »
If you want to use SSL, then you have to use the hostname as the incoming and outgoing mail servers.
Haven't found a way around it with CWP, ISPCOnfig or iRedMail.
They all use the hostname for SSL. Must be something with Postfix and Dovecot.

CentOS-WebPanel Bugs / Re: Autoresponder truncates
« on: August 20, 2019, 02:31:05 AM »
Found the problem.
I was using an &, and the autorepsonder deleted that along with everything after it.
CWP must have thought it was some kind of command.
Removed the &, and it works fine. Doh

How to / e-mail only configuration?
« on: August 16, 2019, 07:52:23 PM »
Is there a way to setup CWP so it only shows the email related options for email and not anything else?
In cPanel you have an option to edit which modules are shown for certain packages.
Thanks,
David

E-Mail / Re: Mail server different as Hostname
« on: August 01, 2019, 09:50:21 AM »I want to host the mail of my clients, but, I want to give to the client parameters as their domain name.
I explain,
CWP is hosted on centos.xxxxx.com
My client's domain name is tartempion.org
So in the client mail, I want the possibility to put the SSL parameters as : mail server : mail.tartempion.org, not centos.xxxxx.com
Is that possible ?
Just found it it is not possible with CWP unlike cPanel.
Unless someone knows a way around it.

E-Mail / Re: Outlook mail setup: autodiscover and autoconfig - How to do?
« on: August 01, 2019, 09:49:10 AM »
Outlook will do this automatically when you enter the email address, it will lookup the mail record for the domain name.
But I found out the autoconfig doesn't work with CWP fully.
You can use it to get close, but then have to manually have to change the inbound and outbound server names to the host name they are located on.

I'm having this same issue with SSL and Outlook.
Have the Inbound & outbound email server setup as mail.domain.com, but Outlook comes up with a certificate error and shows self signed certificate for the host name.
And you have to accept every time you open Outlook.
cPanel doesn't have this problem.
How do you fix this problem with CWP?
Thanks,
David
