PHP / Re: ionCube PHP Loader not working php 8.0
« on: July 19, 2022, 05:54:11 PM »
ionCube doesn't support anything above PHP 7.4 currently.

They did announce an update should be out by the end of July, but the release keeps getting pushed back.

And when the update does come out they have stated it will skip support for 8.x, and support PHP 8.1x

CWPpro isn't expensive, which is great.

But good to know.

See: https://www.uxlinux.com/install-python-3-10-in-centos-8-stream-cwp-almalinux-rockylinux-oraclelinuxel8/

As always, I would do a server image first.
You are dealing with computers.

That command line is correct.
If a package is already installed, it will tell you and won't reinstall it.

Admins monitor the forums, but are busy doing what they do.

We have bene using CWPpro for over 2 years, so if it's happened, we've probably seen it.
That being said, it's computers, and even some stuff doesn't make any sense to us either (works on every other server, except 1)

That might be a paid feature.
I know the other parts of PHP are.

If you want to try the full version to see if it works, DM me your server IP.

I know on CWPpro on AlmaLinux 8.6 it works fine.
PHP Version Switcher only works under the Free version.

Does your /usr/local/php/php.ini show anything?

You can also access it under PHP Settings -> PHP.ini Configuration
The PHP Simple Editor is under that same menu (PHP Settings)

What do you get from a command line when you run php -v?

Just make sure you have these packages installed: perl-DBD-MySQL libuuid-devel

Or you could see some weird thing down the road.
They 'should' be install automatically by CWP, but somehow, sometimes get missed.

We also run: dnf install perl-DBD-MySQL libuuid-devel m4 pcre-devel pcre libtool zlib-devel uuid uuid-devel
On new servers, just to be safe.

People where complaining about missing libraries in Rocky Linux 8.5, not sure about 8.6.

And as mentioned we use AlmaLinux now.

I think it comes down to personal choice.

I agree.

But maybe people like being confused.  :P

Scripts / Re: BIlling system to provision cwp hosting
« on: July 08, 2022, 03:39:29 PM »
I've tried all of the panels over the years.
And so far CWP fits he best. But I'm also old, and use to use RedHat in the early 2000's when it was free, before they went paid and release their 1st version of Fedora.

Then maybe look at ISPConfig (Donation Based)
As it also has an auto install script (https://www.howtoforge.com/ispconfig-autoinstall-debian-ubuntu/)

I would use Debian (Release) over unbutu (Beta).

Updates are very slow, it has it's own proprietary billing system (https://www.ispconfig.org/add-ons/billing-module/), that is 59 Euros.

That being said, WHMCS and CPW is a great combo, but I do understand the minimum for WHMCS is $18.95 to $44.95/Month.

Depends on what fits your needs the best, not for just now, but you have to look down the road.

What I like about AlmaLinux, is it's basically the same company as CloudLinux that CWP recommends.

Alma seems to be the Free version, and Cloud the paid version.

If you need help with AlmaLInux 8.6, let me know.
We also have the latest Dovecot (2.3.x), MariaDB (10.8.x) and Apache 2.4.54 running.

Rocky Linux did have some libraries missing last time I checked. Hopefully they fixed that by now.

Maybe using centos 8 stream is bad advice, i just installed another cwp web server using centos 8 stream now i am thinking of deleting centos 8 stream and installing rocky linux as i have 1 web server now with almalinux. This is all so confusing, CWP need to support rocky and alma linux and drop the rest?

If you use alamalinux after updating you may need to do this: http://forum.centos-webpanel.com/index.php?topic=12143.msg41887#new

Not tried rockylinux yet going to try tomorrow not enough time to do anything today, i need to reinstall the web server i setup last night using centos 8 stream as it is not long term supported i think.
