CentOS 9 Problems / Re: Recommended for fresh install
« on: February 26, 2024, 10:40:20 AM »
Rocky had/has a problem with libraries not being available, and is only ABI compatible also.
Unless rocky is violating RHEL terms, and ripping the code illegally.
And now rocky has ruffled feathers by partnering with ciq and trying to switch to a paid support platform just like what RHEL did.
You can view rocky's pricing at https://ciq.com/support/rocky-linux/
So if you are thinking about rocky now, you might as well go with RHEL.
Choice is simple, which is AlmaLinux.
Or of course you have the paid option of CloudLinux, which CWP supports.
And then there is Oracle Linux.

PHP / Re: PHP Version Switcher / PHP Selector not updating PHO
« on: February 24, 2024, 01:09:11 PM »
I've posted this in other threads, but to get PHP 8.3.x working in CWP, you have to build it without the following options:
mbstring
imagick
ioncube
But without ionCube, some encrypted PHP scripts won't work.
Check their requirements, and if it says it need ionCube, you are stuck with PHP 8.2.x for right now.
And that has nothing to do with CWP, that is due to the ionCube Loaders not supporting PHP 8.3., yet (as of this post).

PHP / Re: PHP Version Switcher
« on: February 24, 2024, 12:53:16 PM »CWP 0.9.8.1142 free version and i cannot use php switch
how can i pay for pro version? i tried with skrill but cannot pay..
Can anybody help?
PHP Switcher2 * PHP-FPM is part of CWPpro, it does not function in the Free version of CWP.
But from your post above, you already know that.
Also for some odd reason, for PHP-CGI to compile correctly, you have to have your DNS in the Admin panel set to valid servers, and have the hostname SSL installed.
Brought up 5 servers earlier in February, and found that little bug.

Ah, gotcha.
I use Webmin on a Zabbix box running AlmaLinux 9.
But more just to monitor stuff.

@overseer In the initial post, they stated all their other servers ran DA (Directadmin), and that's what their sys admin knows, except this 1 server they installed CWP for some reason.
But haven't done anything but bash & complain about CWP.
Which is why I suggested they just make this server DA like the rest of theirs, since they are so unhappy with CWP.

Sounds like you are unhappy with CWP.
Maybe you should follow your sys admins advice, cancel and just use Directadmin on all of your servers.

CentOS-WebPanel Bugs / Re: hide the time zone
« on: February 22, 2024, 08:04:22 PM »Chek my image please -> https://ibb.co/fdcKkQTcheck my image please
I want to hide it because a client is telling me that this is not his time zone, but even though I try to change it everywhere, it still shows that time zone that is not from his country, so I prefer to hide it so he doesn't tell me anything, and to solve this problem they charge me for the support and it is more loss for me than gain.
You need to remove the ; at the front of the line to activate the change.
; acts the same as #

CentOS-WebPanel Bugs / Re: CHROOT Fixes For AlmaLinux
« on: February 22, 2024, 06:25:41 PM »
There are allot of RHEL clones out there.
That would mean this would get long, since Rocky Linux would also have to be added.
Curious if there is one here on the forums, could answer how Rocky answers.

Not sure if you can, and why would you?
Any PHP script can query the server for time & date.
Looking at the logs would give you an estimate of the time also.
But as a suggestion/what we do.
I have all the servers set to Zulu/UTC.
But we also have servers in the US, and 3 other countries. (Shameless plug, the overseas servers are mirror server we run)
Even before that though, I set them to Zulu, because it's just easier. You might have support on Eastern Time (US), a web designer in Europe somewhere, and the client down under in Australia.

SSH into you server or access local terminal
Then just enter:
You will see a list of the username prefixes. Which should match the Username under User Accounts.
Then just enter:
Code: [Select]
nano /usr/local/cwp/.conf/mysql_user_prefix.conf
You will see a list of the username prefixes. Which should match the Username under User Accounts.

Change logs use to be at https://control-webpanel.com/changelog
But haven't been updated since 0.9.8.1173
Kinda like how it still recommends CentOS 7, which is EOL.
I went to see if the new PHP version where there, and they are not.

CentOS-WebPanel Bugs / Re: I can't create databases correctly
« on: February 22, 2024, 01:23:23 PM »I meant the MySQL server you have installed, not the client version. Look at the info box on the home screen of the CWP Admin panel.
@overseer, for some reason the CWP Admin Panel shows the client version.
Found this bug when testing MariaDB 11.x with how it queried the version running.

So CWP 0.9.8.1176 just came out this morning, and PHP wasn't updated.
@josemnunez
Still 2 versions behind on PHP 8.2 and 8.3.
