Yesterday the control panel updated, and today there was an update to the cwp-suphp if you have the CWP repo active.
Did you try to reboot?

« on: October 04, 2024, 07:02:37 AM »
MariaDB 10.4.x is past EOL.
10.11.x works on AlmaLinux 8.10 and 9.4 without problems.
Curious why you haven't updated to 8.10 for the security fixes.

Sadly, yes.
They usually bring down the whole server.

Installation / Re: Recommended CWP Version for fresh install
« on: October 04, 2024, 05:16:08 AM »
We are running a mix of AlmaLinux 8 and 9 also.
This user has beat his discussion like a dead horse.
Posting thread after thread on how CWP 'recommends CentOS 7', which they don't, and been pointed out to them several times.
The Official Recommended version is AlmaLinux 8.
Period.

MySQL / Re: Message after upgrading to MariaDB 11.4.x LTS
« on: October 02, 2024, 09:27:17 PM »
My worry is CWP installs the past EOL 10.4 (ended 18 Jun 2024), even on AL9.
And if a point release (e.g. 11.4.5) comes along and gets rid of the mysql name support.
Guess I'll stick with 10.11.x to be safe.
It's LTS support does end until end a year earlier, in 3 years and 4 months (16 Feb 2028)

MySQL / Message after upgrading to MariaDB 11.4.x LTS
« on: September 29, 2024, 02:30:00 AM »
After the upgrade to 11.4.x, ran:
And got:
Looks like MariaDB is finally stopping calls to it using mysql.
How is CWP going to handle this?
Code: [Select]
mysql -V
And got:
Quote
mysql: Deprecated program name. It will be removed in a future release, use '/usr/bin/mariadb' instead
mysql from 11.4.3-MariaDB, client 15.2 for Linux (x86_64) using EditLine wrapper

All the posts I see (x, Discord, Website) are from late July 2024. Around the 21st & 22nd.
Hope it is still going.
It's not easy, but at least this fork of BoxBilling, they had a head start.
We wound up buying the owned license for Blesta for it's module support, and general support & updates.

Guess I'm part masochist, when I try I'll post and see how well it goes with CWP.
The 16 free licenses from RedHat is nice.
Would cover our public mirror network.
But I try to keep things uniform with AlmaLinux.

This fork and the FOSSBilling fork both looked interesting.
Looks like FOSSBilling died also though. Last release was June 2024.
They didn't want to update the CWP module, and Months ago, one of the developers was actually hostile towards CWP or anyone who mentioned it.

Postfix / Re: connection refused to a domain on another virtual machine
« on: September 23, 2024, 03:45:27 PM »
Forwarding on a standard router can only forward port 25, 465, 587 to 1 machine, and then has to be able to communicate back out via that same port.
rDNS has to be correctly setup as well as DMARC, DKIM, SPF and not to mentioned SSL or MTA-STS.
Pointing 1 public to a VM is good for test and learning.
But if you going to use these as a production server, they each need public IP's, not behind a NAT.
Using a NAT isn't going to get support from anyone really, since every router can be configured differently.

Agreed CentOS 6 is 'way too old', but so is CentOS in general.
You should be running either AlmaLinux 8 or 9.
If you are learning then AlmaLinux 9, so you can get use to all the newer commands.
