Adding cloudflare name servers
« on: February 27, 2017, 07:25:03 PM »
hello,

I was wondering if anyone could help me in addin the cloudflare name servers to one of my sites that already uses them on my 2nd server that uses vestacp as the web panel.

I'm wanting to move all my websites and clients over to CWP, but I am struggling to set everything up even after the install service.

Would anyone be able to give me a step my step guide if not some direct support please?

There are a few things i am struggling with so any direct support whom may be able to assist me would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,
James

Hi,

In CWP you can add Name Server details via the GUI  [DNS Funcions > Edit Nameservers IPs]. However if you are using Cloudflare you probably don't want to do this as Cloudflare is probably performing your DNS functions not CWP.

If you are using Cloudflare as your DNS you need to set up the relevant records (A, AAAA, MX etc) and point them to your CWP server then point your domain name servers to Cloudflare (https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/205195708).

You do mention already using Cloudflare which could mean you just need to update the IPs on your Cloudflare records to point to your new server.

Hope this helps, look me up via profile if you like (I successfully use Cloudflare with CWP on my server too).

1. log in at cloudflare and create your account + domain
2. make the proper dns entries in cloudfare so that your cwp address is used here
3. login to the place where u registered your domain
4. Create or set the new nameservers there or set the new nameservers there the nameservers at cloudflare per example cody.dns.cloudflare.com)

in cwp u dont need to change anything however i suggest for cleanness u change the dns templates and remove the nameserver listed there now and add the cloudflare ones
