is it safe for me to delete those build directories under /tmp specifically /tmp/apache-build/*  and /tmp/php-build/* to shut lsf up?  :)

CSF Firewall / Re: DDoS Protection script
« on: April 02, 2017, 09:20:13 PM »
How does this help against DDOS?  By its very nature DDOS  (DISTRIBUTED denial of service) will come from multiple IP addresses.

Hello.

CSF itself can be used to create Layer DDOS protection better than this script it have 2 options

1 . CONNLIMIT = 80;20,443;15
Port 80 no more than 20 connections from single ip and on ssl port no more than 15

2. CT_LIMIT = 250
CT_INTERVAL = 30

No more than 250 connections for 30 seconds from IP address (same as ddos deflate)

CSF Firewall / Re: fail2ban and CWP

I'm interested in knowing of there are any gaps with just csf/lfd that suggest I should also use fail2ban.  I'm happy to learn if csf/lfd is sufficient.

CSF Firewall / Editor in CWP for /etc/csf/csf.pignore ?
« on: April 02, 2017, 09:14:42 PM »
I can't seem to find an editor for the /etc/csf/csf.pignore file in CWP.  Most other config files can be directly edited through CWP, but couldn't find that.  Am I missing something?

CentOS-WebPanel GUI / MySQL Manager gaps
« on: March 31, 2017, 09:49:03 PM »
I'm rather surprised a couple very basic capabilities are missing from CWP for account users (non-root) within MySQL Manager.

Users should be able to both a) add existing database-users to a database, and b) reset or change a database-user's password.  I don't want CWP users to have to bug me for either of those changes, they should be able to do it themselves.

Is it possible to do those two things but I'm missing something?

I thought  saw instructions somewhere on setup of auto Let's Encrypt certs, but I can't seem to find it again.

SSL / Automatic Let's Encrypt certificates?
« on: March 30, 2017, 03:05:27 AM »
Is there any way to setup automatic Let's Encrypt certificate creation and renewal for all domains hosted by CWP?  It is a feature I've seen in other web panels, and I can't seem to find information about it for CWP.

CSF Firewall / Re: fail2ban and CWP

I understand I can.

I'm trying to understand if it is essential or valuable given a) CWP did not choose to manage it, and b) CWP does use CSF/LSF firewall.

CSF Firewall / fail2ban and CWP
« on: March 29, 2017, 04:32:58 PM »
Is fail2ban recommended with CWP even with the CSF/LFP firewall?

Is there configuration support for fail2ban in the web panel?

CentOS-WebPanel GUI / Problems creating new user domain/website
« on: May 09, 2016, 10:52:25 PM »
I created anew user through CWP, and it apparently created the domain entry in vhosts and the web root directory for the user.

Is it correct to expect that creating a user with a specified domain should automate everything for a web server vhost/root serving that domain?

Things just don't seem to be working right...

  • When I log in as that new user and 'list domains" none are listed.  Should it be included?
  • When I attempt to connect to the vhost domain for that user, it actually loads the site from the httpd.conf defined DocumentRoot (not the vhost)

I discovered that my cloud computing provider's default security policies block most ingress ports.  New with this provider so I figured out how to enable 2030 and 2031.

I successfully installed CWP, and rebooted.   I can successfully access the default web page on port 80,  but when I try to access the CWP GUI on port 2030 (or 2031) I get a connection timeout.   Any suggestions on what to check?
