My server is running AlmaLinux 9.8 and CWPPro. The installed package is cwpsrv-1.24.0-2.x86_64.

When I try to configure PHP 8.4.27 in the PHP selector GUI, Save & Build reports:

Check options dependencies – missing dependencies found – zlib (dependency: zlib-dir)

I inspected the configuration files:

/usr/local/cwpsrv/htdocs/resources/conf/el9/php_switcher/8.4.ini

/usr/local/cwpsrv/htdocs/resources/conf/el9/php-fpm_selector/8.4.ini

Both contain include=zlib-dir, but neither defines a [zlib-dir] section.

The PHP 8.3 configuration at /usr/local/cwpsrv/htdocs/resources/conf/el9/php_switcher/8.3.ini does define:

[zlib-dir]
default=1
option="--with-zlib-dir=/usr"
info-file=no.txt

The PHP 8.5 configurations also reference zlib-dir without defining the section.

Could you confirm whether this is a known EL9 selector configuration bug and is there a correction for PHP 8.4? I have not modified any configuration files.

I also ran the legacy /scripts/update_cwp script, which produced errors involving /sbin/service and missing api.conf. The panel and web services remain active, and systemctl --failed reports no failed units.

Any help/guidance greatly welcome please!
Thanks!

Thank you for this, Starburst.
Does CWP7 recognise the php installation that arises from Sandeep's code (ie how do I get my server's Apache to use the latest php version), and what happens when there's a PHP update - would I use cwp7's version switcher or do I essentially turn php management over to alphagnu's ongoing?

php installs are a bit of a grey area for me so I'm grateful for any hints. - thank you :)
